Carol
Bensema Prusa grew up in the Chicago area, and is second of four children,
all thirteen months apart. Carol earned a B.S. in Medical Illustration
from the University of Illinois in 1980, and her M.F.A. (Painting,
Drawing) from Drake University in 1985. She taught art at Drake University
and at Iowa State University for several years. At the time
of
the interview, she was a full-time artist in Iowa, but has since moved
to Florida for a teaching job. She is married and has two children.
She does a variety of artwork, including painting with egg tempera
and encaustic, multi-media installations, and performance art.
